📊 Where the data comes from

For a decision tool to be credible you need to know where the numbers come from. Here are all our sources.

Fuel prices

Régie de l'énergie du Québec — public GeoJSON feed

regieessencequebec.ca · CORS open · updated live by stations

EV charging

City of Montréal — public EV chargers

Official open dataset · CC BY 4.0 · monthly updates

Preferred source within Montréal. InfoGas groups ports at the same location into a site while retaining the reported port count.

NLR / Alternative Fuels Data Center

Official API · data use does not imply NLR or Department of Energy endorsement

Preferred province-wide source when configured. An operational status describes the known site, not a port that is free right now.

Terms and licences

Supplementary open source. Licences can vary by provider; InfoGas keeps record-level attribution and removes obvious duplicate locations.

Not live occupancy: confirm current status, pricing and connector in the network app before travelling.

Nearby services

OpenStreetMap · Overpass API

openstreetmap.org — © contributors

Convenience stores, cafés, repair shops, ATMs, pharmacies within 500 m of each station.

Weather + geocoding

Open-Meteo

open-meteo.com · CORS open, no key

3-day forecast + geocoding for city search.

Base map

CARTO Positron + OpenStreetMap

Rendered with MapLibre GL JS, CARTO tiles built on OpenStreetMap data.

Proprietary calculations

The net-after-cards values (RBC × Petro-Canada, CAA × Shell, PC Optimum…) are our interpretation of each program's public terms. Indicative — the actual conditions remain those of each issuer and may change. See our card matrix for verification dates.

Detour costs assume urban average speed 35 km/h, a 1.4× factor between straight-line and road distance, default consumption 8 L/100 km (overridable in profile), default time value $20/hr.

Errors and corrections

A price looks wrong? A station missing? Email bonjour@infogas.ca — we forward price corrections to the Régie who must validate with the merchant.
