Quebec and federal EV incentives in 2026

Quebec and Canada use separate programs and eligibility lists. These are maximum amounts, not an automatic promise.

✓Federal EVAP: eligible transactions begin February 16, 2026; up to $5,000 for a battery or hydrogen vehicle and $2,500 for a plug-in hybrid.
✓Federal price and origin: final transaction value is generally capped at $50,000, except for an EV made in Canada. The vehicle must also be made in Canada or a country that has a free-trade agreement with Canada.
✓Federal leases: at least 12 months; the full maximum corresponds to 48 months and shorter leases are prorated.
✓Quebec 2026: up to $2,000 for a new EV; $500 for a plug-in hybrid from 8 to under 15 kWh or $1,000 at 15 kWh and above; and $1,000 for an eligible used battery EV.
✓Quebec price and model: only vehicles on the official list qualify; a new vehicle's MSRP must be below $65,000 to be listed.
✓Home charger: the separate Ecorecharge program may provide $600 for an eligible charger. Since April 1, 2026, only connected chargers on the official list qualify.
!Quebec date: the registration date determines the amount, not the order or deposit date.
!Announced end: Roulez vert ends December 31, 2026; the scheduled amount for vehicles registered in 2027 is $0.
